Burls

Burls are the gnarly growths and deformities on trees, characterized by their irregular shape. These formed as a result of stress or injury to the tree, such as from fungal or bacterial infections, insect infestations, or environmental damage. But for woodworkers, wood burls are a treasure trove of unique figure and intricate grain patterns, including swirls, eyes, and curls. 

Our wood burls come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Burls are sold by “green weight”. This is the weight when they are harvested. As burls dry, they lose some weight
